What can go wrong
Conduit that moves with the gate, has unsupported joins or leaves cable exposed can fail through vibration, abrasion, water entry or accidental impact
Untidy routing also makes it harder to identify circuits and can increase the time needed to diagnose later faults

What a clean installation considers
The route should suit the gate movement, environment and equipment manufacturer requirements. Entry points, bends, drainage, mechanical protection and future access all need to be planned before cables are pulled
The finished system should be testable and serviceable without disturbing unrelated wiring or creating new damage
Correct the cause, not only the symptom
Replacing one damaged cable without correcting the route may only delay the next failure. The gate movement and surrounding hardware should be checked before the wiring is repaired
Where electrical work is required, it must be completed by an appropriately qualified person for the work involved
Automatic gates and doors can cause serious injury. Keep clear of moving equipment and live electrical parts. If operation is unpredictable or unsafe, isolate the system where practical and arrange professional assessment
